Information for this map was derived from a map drawn by the Auburn Planning Board, aerial photographs, and other sources. There are a large number of new residential neighborhoods and some of the older streets have new homes being built in the land between the existing homes. The Dark Brook Reservoir was created in the early 1950's by the Electric Light Company and that portion of the Massachusetts Turnpike that went through Auburn was completed in 1957. The fact that Auburn hosts a Turnpike interchange will greatly influence its future growth.
