General Information About the Pakachoag Hiking Trail

This trail was surveyed, designed, and constructed with grant assistance funding from the Blackstone Heritage Corridor, Inc. The Town of Auburn is extremely grateful for the efforts of the Blackstone Heritage Corridor to help Auburn make its first official hiking trail available for the community in 2017.

The Pakachoag Hiking Trail entrance is located at the Dr. Arthur and Dr. Martha Pappas Recreation Complex (203 A Pakachoag Street) to the right of the concession stand. Be sure to view the Entrance Map if unfamiliar with the area.

The Trail is described as one hiking path that extends southeast-ward along the Worcester Flood Diversion Channel for a stretch of 4,624 feet (7/8 mile). This stretch is almost entirely downhill. Two picnic tables mark the end of the trail at which hikers must turn-around and repeat the same trail, uphill in a northwesterly direction, for a total distance of 9,248 feet (1 ¾ mile).

Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. This trail is very challenging and contains steep terrain, potential tripping hazards, and wetland areas within a natural habitat. Hikers are strongly encouraged to wear appropriate foot attire and bring plenty of water. Please be conscious of the natural environment and do not litter; take your trash with you. Be sure to review the Trail Rules before visiting.
