New Hampshire Getaway
Featuring the Winnipesaukee Turkey Train
September 8th and 9th, 2019}
2 Days / 3 Meals
Escape to the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire where "lakes, mountains and sky meet" alongside charming villages that surround Lake Winnipesaukee. Our first stop will be the lakeside town of Wolfesboro brimming with small shops, eateries and New England charm. Browse the unique shops and galleries, with lunch on own. Afterwards, take a leisurely drive to the other side of the lake and check into our hotel, The Inn at Mills Falls located in Meredith, New Hampshire. This charming lake-side establishment boasts spacious guest rooms marked by a 40-foot waterfall in a restored 19th Century linen mill with an indoor pool and full-service Spa. Located close by is the historic Hobo Turkey Train. We will depart on a spectacular two hour round trip train ride offering lakeside scenery. Enjoy a complete turkey dinner on-board, catered by Hart’s Turkey Farm.
On Day 2, start with a leisurely breakfast, with free time to shop at Mill Falls Marketplace. This collection of unique shops is surrounded by brick walkways, flower gardens and views of Lake Winnipesaukee. On our way home we will stop in Amherst, New Hampshire for a visit to LaBelle Winery. Situated among sprawling vineyards covering the rolling hills of southern New Hampshire, you will be treated to a wine tasting of their classic vintages. A luncheon of fresh salads and gourmet sandwiches follows in the "Great Room." Take a little time to visit their shop of local New England products featuring jams, wines and other sumptuous goods before departing for home.
