Message from the Town of Auburn:
Tree inspectors will be looking for signs of Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) in Auburn over the next several months. Inspectors will survey areas of Auburn that are within the State and Federal quarantine, which can be seen on the Worcester County Quarantine Map. To date, ALB has not been found in Auburn, but the tree inspections help to confirm the beetle is not in the area. Residents may see employees from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and from the Davey Tree Company in their neighborhoods. Employees have ALB program identification with them, and will show their identification if asked. Employees will try to notify homeowners before accessing properties to conduct tree inspections. For questions about ALB program activities occurring in your area, please call 508-852-8090 or 1-866-702-9938. If you see the beetle or signs of tree damage, please report online. You can learn more about ALB by visiting www.AsianLonghornedBeetle.com.
