FF Jonathan Yursha


Jonathan Yursha is a FF/EMT that has served the Massachusetts Fire Service for the past 10 years. He started his career in the Town of Oxford in 2008, before joining the Auburn Fire Rescue Department in July of 2017. He is a graduate of the District 7 Recruit Training Program Class 13 in 2009. He is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy Career Recruit Training Program Class# 188.

Before joining the Fire Service he worked as an EMT for a private Ambulance service. Firefighter Yursha holds an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Quinsigamond Community College, where he also obtained his EMT-B certification in 2007. In 2015, he received EMT of the Year from the Central Mass EMS Corporation.

Firefighter Yursha has been a member of the District 7 Technical Rescue Team since the team’s inception. He also is one of a few certified Car/Child Seat Technicians in the Town of Auburn. He serves as a Public Fire & Life Safety Educator that visits schools, the elderly, and others to pass on his knowledge of fire safety to protect and prevent fires and other incidents.

In his free time he likes to spend as much time as he can with family and friends. He enjoys woodworking, working around his house and playing hockey on his off nights with co-workers and friends.

His long-term goal is to keep educating the public on fire safety and keep the message of fire prevention and safety going for years to come. He would also like to obtain has much education and knowledge to pass on to new and current members of the department, with a future of moving up in the ranks of the department.
