Francis Hartnett

Firefighter Francis Hartnett began his fire service career in 1991 with the Leicester Fire Department as an on- call member. Fran received his initial EMT certification in 1993 and worked full time for Leicester EMS. In 1998, Fran joined the Auburn Fire Rescue Department as call firefighter. He became an EMT-Intermediate in 1996 and eventually transitioned to EMT-Advanced in 2015. Fran was appointed as a fulltime member of the Auburn Fire Rescue Department in January 2000, starting on Group 1 and now serving on Group 2.

Fran is a graduate of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, Class #139. He is a certified Firefighter I/II and trained as a Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I and Hazmat Operations.

Fran is a charter member of the Auburn Permanent Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 4157 where he served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years. Fran was one of the initial appointments to the Auburn Fire Rescue Motor Unit where he continues to serve honorably. Fran has received several unit citations for his efforts over the course of his career.
