Kimberly O’Brien has served as a member of the Auburn Fire Rescue Department for the past 11 years, currently serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic on Group 3. Firefighter O’Brien is a 4th generation Firefighter and possesses an unrelenting passion for the fire service.
Kim is a lifetime resident of Auburn and began her career as a call Firefighter/EMT for the Town of Auburn in 2007 and in 2013 was appointed as a career member of the department.
Firefighter O’Brien is the Auburn Team Leader for the District 7 Technical Rescue Team. She holds certificates in Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Trench Rescue and is certified in Structural Collapse Rescue.
Firefighter O’Brien holds an Associate’s degree in Fire Science and an Associate’s degree in Paramedic Technology. In 2015, she graduated the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Career Recruit Training Program Class# 227.
Firefighter O’Brien’s is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s 305 hour Hazardous Materials Technician Program, certifying her as a state Hazmat Technician. Kim also holds certifications as a Firefighter I/II, Fire Instructor I, and Fire Officer I/II.
Kim enjoys spending time with her family including her husband and father, both Worcester Firefighters and her mother who spends her time listening to all of them talking about firefighting.
